1. Separation anxiety – When a kitten is removed from their mother or siblings too early, it is normal for them to feel stressed due to the separation. Such kittens may grow up to be antisocial, aggressive and become troublemakers at some point down the road. Understanding kittens’ behavior will entail knowing when is the right time to remove the kitten from their mother – an adequate time being after twelve to sixteen weeks. Weaning is usually the mother’s responsibility, and it is important to let her handle this stage; after a few weeks of age, she will begin to refuse nursing and this will force the kittens to start eating solid foods.

2. Spending quality time with your kitten – Understanding kittens’ behavior will entail taking some time to play with and hold your kitten each day. Don’t forget that kittens are also all teeth and claws: It is part of their normal development to play rough and aggressively with you and other kittens, as a cat needs the predatory skills to survive in the wild. By doing this every day for about half an hour, you will help them to develop social skills thereby enabling them to learn to be comfortable around human beings as they grow up.

By understanding kittens’ behavior, you will be able to know what your cat is thinking and feeling at every stage of their growth and development. As such, you will be able to manage periods of troublesome behavior, and train your cat to live harmoniously with other members of your household.

Cats, dogs & horses are a long life passion of mine, and I had to help countless friends & relatives with their cat’s problems, which was time consuming; but last year I finally found a great a site where I can now send everyone for solutions to all of their cat’s behavioral problems:
